Manuel Joseph Strano, a resident of Hammonton, passed away July 7th, aged 88, of heart failure at home. He was born on June 5, 1930 in Philadelphia, son of Salvatore and Mary Strano. Salvatore immigrated from Italy in 1905. Manuel graduated from Camden Catholic High School and Drexel University. He is a Korean War veteran, serving in the Navy from 1950 to 1954 onboard USS VERMILION (AKA-107). He retired from Public Service Electric and Gas Company as Supervisor of the Gas Department in Audubon/Camden after 42 years in 1992. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing black jack and poker, going to the Hammonton Health & Fitness gym, and was a champion in archery competition. He was a member of the Hammonton VFW Post #1026. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie (Lucca), son Michael and his wife Teresa of Chantilly, Virginia, his grandchildren Joseph and Stephanie, his brother Robert, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a attend a viewing Tuesday July 10, 2018 from 7- 9 PM at the Landolfi Funeral Home 237 Bellevue Ave. Hammonton. A Funeral Service was held at 10 AM at the funeral home Wednesday July 11, 2018 followed with Interment and Military Honors at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post#1026 at 390 S. Egg Harbor Rd., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
